Our flaxseed oil (also known as linseed oil) is produced by pressing meticulously selected seeds of common flax. Yellowish in colour, it has a mildly tart smell and slightly bitter and nutty taste which is a result of the method we use to extract it i.e. cold-pressing without refinement. The unrefined oil preserves all of the flaxseed nutrients which are extremely precious for our organisms.
It can be used both internally and externally – on the hair and skin.
The linseed oil contains a lot of polyunsaturated fatty acids. The most known – omega 3 and omega 6 are substances which take part in the hormone production, cellular structure and regulation of cholesterol. On top of that it also contains vitamin E which not only nourishes your hair and skin but also is a strong antioxidant so it protects our bodies from anti-oxidative stress and excessive amount of free radicals as well as slows down the process of ageing and prevents the development of lesions.
The linseed oil can be consumed straight from a spoon or as an addition to many different dishes. It is worth remembering that it will retain all its valuable properties only when kept in a refrigerator and not subjected to high cooking temperatures. Adding the flaxseed oil to salads, spreads, vegetable smoothies or even bread, will take care of our health from the inside. Adults are advised to consume 1-3 teaspoons daily. Children and teenagers can freely consume more linseed oil. You can achieve the greatest results when you drink the flaxseed oil on an empty stomach before breakfast but it is not an absolute rule. Moreover, it can be applied on the skin as an anti-inflammatory serum which regenerates and unstiffens. It will be useful as a hair-oil treatment to give your hair elasticity and a healthy glow.
Drinking the linseed oil is a natural proactive formula for circulatory system disorders such as arteriosclerosis or coronary thrombosis. If you use the linseed oil regularly, it will alleviate the symptoms of menopause and perimenopause in women and support the treatment of fertility problems in men. It is also advised to apply the oil when dealing with gastrointestinal disorders and while dieting. Our unrefined cold-pressed flaxseed oil will replace many products we can find at the chemist’s and it will naturally improve the condition of our skin and hair.
